Dreamlined Entertainment Artist Shares the Depth of A Dreamer’s Life in Newest Video
Canadian-born country music artist, Makayla Lynn, debuts the performance video for her latest hit, The Dreamer. Lynn is a fresh face exploding onto the Nashville scene and one of the standout country artists signed to Dreamlined Entertainment Group and Wrensong Entertainment/Harvey Dog Songs. After being named Rolling Stone Magazine‘s “New Artist You Need to Know,” she has spent time at #1 on CMT’s 12-Pack Countdown, and is a two-time East Coast Music Award winner in Canada.
Makayla Lynn’s newest single The Dreamer tells the story of “a dreamer” and the mother, lover, and daughter who know and love him. This is a tale well-known in Nashville, a city home to a large community of dreamers, including musicians, songwriters, and artists. The song is written not only for all of those dreamers, but also for the supporters who know the struggle involved with having your very soul pulled so heavily toward a vision. Multi-platinum songwriter and Grammy winning producer Keith Stegall produced the track along with his daughter Jen, further bringing the story of The Dreamer full circle.

“The Dreamer was written from a very personal place for myself and my co-writers Jen Stegall and Janelle Arthur,” expresses Lynn. “As dreamers, we see the sacrifices made by our loved ones allow us to chase something in our souls. What always surprises me is how a song that feels very specific and niche can end up conveying an emotion that is universally felt in one way or another. If you are a dreamer, if you’re the mother, lover or daughter of one, this song is for you.”
The Dreamer was written by Lynn with Jen Stegall (Farewell Angelina, Faren Rachels) and Janelle Arthur. The writers each found a connection with the song in their own way. Makayla moved from Nova Scotia to Nashville in pursuit of her dreams, leaving behind her home and family. American Idol alum Janelle Arthur has also been tested and tried by the so-called “ten year town.” Jen Stegall, the third-generation Stegall in the music industry, used her own family as inspiration.
