PLA Media’s Sr. Social Media & Marketing Consultant, Pip Wynans, Takes Center Stage As Pipella, Wins ‘Songwriter Of The Year’ At The 2023 Wavy Awards
On Nov. 18, 2023, the third-annual Wavy Awards honored the acclaimed cinematic rock singer-songwriter, PiPEllA, with “Songwriter of the Year” for her single “Life As A Movie.”
The award show was hosted at the Abrons Arts Center and celebrated artists who identify as women, non-binary individuals, LGBTQ+ members, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and other People of Color), and/or identifies as having a disability.
“Life As A Movie” intertwines cinematic narratives and lyrical brilliance to transport listeners into a dreamlike, fantasy world. With all of her songs, PiPEllA finds influence from cinematic and other fictitious media. She expresses that her music aims to “explore the link between fantasy and reality.”

“This song is every hope and every dream that I’ve ever had, and the fact that y’all recognize this and all the love that was put into it means everything to me,” expressed PiPEllA during her heartfelt acceptance speech.
On top of making cinematic rock music, PiPEllA, or Pip Wynans, works at PLA Media as the Senior Social Media and Marketing Consultant.

PiPEllA, born Abigail “Pip” Wynans, is a Texas native, currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. Since 2021, Pip has been working to become this world’s favorite ASPEC Cinematic Rock Storyteller. About the Wavy Awards
The Wavys was founded in 2021 after the founders were inspired to take action when the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative study unveiled the glaring absence of women in the music industry. The Wavys celebrates historically excluded and marginalized talent including women, non-binary individuals, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and artists with disabilities. The Wavys receives annual support from the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
The first award show garnered 10,000 views on YouTube and was featured in Variety.
