Musicity Kids Providing Free Educational Content for Kids and Families

Musicity KidsMusiCity Kids launches half-hour educational content via Facebook and global distributors to support children and families as they forge through at-home learning and transition into socially distant summer enrichment opportunities. With episodes premiering each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11 AM CT, MusiCity Kids, anchored by host, creator, and Executive Producer Tamara Fyke, features segments on physical education, financial literacy, science, music, physical and mental health, hand-eye coordination, character education, entrepreneurship, and more. Each episode is customized to target children and families with children between the ages of six to twelve years old.

“The mission of MusiCity Kids is to help kids grow strong in mind, body, and heart,” says Fyke. “Through our new production company BlueWonder Creative, we are collaborating with Nashville’s educational leaders, non-profits, musicians and small businesses to serve children and families.  This is an opportunity to elevate everyone in our community after the tornado and during the pandemic.  Despite the trauma we have faced, Nashville is resilient. We lead the world with light and hope.”

Tamara FykeMusiCity Kids programming airs weekly on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/musicitykids in addition to being available for families and homeschooling educators via global distribution programs batteryPOP and Belouga. The programming is being curated by Fyke and her team of educators and experienced professionals.  Fyke, who holds a masters degree from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development, developed this program after years of work with Vanderbilt’s Center for Safe and Supportive Schools where she provided professional development, coaching and consulting for principals and teachers.  Fyke has served as a leader in social and emotional learning (SEL) since her work as a substitute teacher in Metro Nashville Public School, which would serve as the foundation for her Love In a Big World curriculum, professional development, assembly and resource program since 1996.
