Lockwood Barr Holds Live-stream Concert to Benefit the CMA Foundation

Singer-songwriter Lockwood Barr is playing a private live-stream concert on Tuesday, July 21 to benefit music education and the CMA Foundation.
The stream, presented by Original Masters and Matt Odmark, will take place at the Gray Matters Studio. It was crucial to Lockwood to find a way to give back to an organization that she holds close to her heart.

“I am a product of the public school system, and I am now in Nashville living my dream as an artist and CMA member thanks to my schools’ well-funded music programs from kindergarten all the way up,” Lockwood said. “Arts programs in public schools are always the first to get cut in any sort of budget crisis, and the CMA Foundation is actively making sure that the arts programs stay alive.”

A portion of all proceeds collected through ticket sales and additional donations will go to the CMA Foundation to help their efforts in improving and sustaining high-quality music education programs across the United States, as they work to ensure every child has the opportunity to participate in music.

In addition to contributing to the CMA Foundation, Lockwood is thrilled to be playing with her band for the first time since February. “This will be a show in a renowned Nashville recording studio with world-class sound. It’s definitely taking my streaming to a whole new level,” Lockwood said. “Be still my heart, it feels like Christmas in July.”

Fans can tune in to hear Lockwood’s newest single “Best Bad Decision Maker” and some teasers of upcoming music. Tickets are on a donation basis and can be purchased by visiting Lockwood’s Instagram @MusicByLockwood or by visiting this link.

About Lockwood Barr

From the moment she steps into the spotlight and begins picking her banjo- her dad’s 1972
Gibson Masterstone to be exact- it’s undeniable that being on stage is where Lockwood Barr feels most at home. Selected as an emerging artist to watch by the Country Music Association in both 2016 and 2017, this Tiburon, Ca native songwriter and Vanderbilt graduate was awarded an Independent Country Music Association award as banjo player and vocalist fo the Nashvegas Rambler.

Barr released her debut project, Signs Along the Road in 2016 which was produced by Matt Odmark of the Grammy Award-winning band Jars of Clay. “She has the goods…” writes Music Row Magazine. “Barr exudes natural talent and her career in the music business seems promising.”

In June of 2018, Lockwood performed at the JED Foundation Gala, a leading non-profit foundation working to protect emotional health and prevent suicide for teens and young adults. Lockwood has been a longtime advocate for suicide prevention. Lockwood has appeared on CBS Sunday Morning to tell the story of the suicide of a close childhood friend. She and numerous others petitioned for a preventative suicide barrier along the Golden Gate Bridge after her friend’s death. Fortunately, their hard work paid off. Plans for a $200 million suicide barrier were approved and are due for completion in 2021.

This Californian has crafted a unique sound that is here to stay: unapologetically bold yet playfully relatable. In the Nashville area, fans can hear Lockwood voice daily as the artist behind the theme song for Rhythm Chrysler Doge Jeep Rangler. When it comes to emerging women in today’s country music scene, it is clear that Lockwood – armed with killer musicianship and a personality that shines as bright as her electrifying blue eyes – is truly raising the Barr.
