Southern Sounds’ Second Annual “Music On The Mulberry” Announces Headliner and Host Hit-Songwriter Lance Carpenter
Lance Carpenter, a celebrated singer-songwriter behind Kelsea Ballerini’s smash #1 hit Love Me Like You Mean It, will be hosting the Southern Sounds produced 2nd Annual “Music on the Mulberry” in Ozark, AR June 17th and 18th. The two-day festival will include duel stages showcasing local, regional and national acts.
“I’m honored that we have been presented with the opportunity to do this festival again,” says Lance Carpenter. “Last year, we only had twelve days to pull everything together after the cancellation of ‘Thunder on the Mountain.’ This community pulled together and it was a hit! I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store for 2016 as Southern Sounds will be announcing the full line up soon!”

The inaugural event developed after the cancelation of the 2015 “Thunder on the Mountain,” a festival where Lance was scheduled to perform. Presented with the opportunity to move his hometown fan base to another location, this Ozark native met with Byrd’s Adventure Center owners and developed the first “Music on the Mountain” festival with the direction of Southern Sounds production. With less than two weeks to organize the event, Lance and the staff at Byrd’s Adventure Center successfully pulled together a line-up featuring 23 bands including Lance and his band, The Union, Keith Anderson, Kevin Fowler and Ricochet.

About Lance Carpenter
The Arkansas native and former college football player hasn’t stopped creating new opportunities since his move to Nashville in 2011. His most recent endeavor involves teaming up with songwriters Josh Kerr and Forest Glen Whitehead to co-write the number-one, country smash hit, Love Me Like You Mean It, with Black River Entertainment’s female powerhouse vocalist Kelsea Ballerini. While music was always an integral part of his upbringing, football initially took precedent during his younger years. In college, as a member of Arkansas Tech University’s 1999 Conference Championship Wonder Boys team, Lance spent time juggling football practice and teaching himself to play guitar. His gift for songwriting did not go unnoticed after his move to Nashville. In just 18 short months, Lance signed his first major publishing deal with Parallel Entertainment and had secured two major cuts. In 2014, Lance co-wrote the song This is Our Home after the devastating tornadoes in Central Arkansas. In return, he donated 100% of the proceeds to the disaster relief efforts. Throughout his performance career, he has shared the stage with many notable acts such as Toby Keith, Luke Bryan and Justin Moore. Lance launched his debut EP Hay Days in August 2015, a project containing six heartfelt tracks, five of which were co-written by Lance, that reflect upon his humble small town beginnings.
